Trees Are Introverts

from Cello Noodles, Vol. IV by Betsy Tinney

about

"Trees Are Introverts" is my musical interpretation of a poem and watercolor by my friend Sandra Odell. Her poem strikes a deep and resonant chord within me; for I am not only an introvert but also, I suspect, a tree.

Come, my dear subscribers, and join me in my leafy shade.

Cover image: a watercolor painting of a single deciduous tree against an intensely blue sky. The tree has a thick brown textured trunk and a generous cloud of green leaves, growing from six brown branches that fan out from the trunk like fingers from a hand. To the right of the tree is a short poem in black type on a cream card with a drop shadow; the poem reads:

Trees are introverts
Waiting for you to join them
In their leafy shade

lyrics

Trees are introverts
Waiting for you to join them
In their leafy shade

Poem/lyrics by Sandra Odell
(Sung by Betsy's cello Raven)
