On the First Sunny Day

Greetings from the chilly and wet Pacific Northwest! (I know, our winters are generally pretty mild here - many other places get blanketed in snow for months!) But lately, it's been unusually cold here, with snow and hail and freezing temps. And I've just gotten home from England, which was also been unusually cold (we had several snowy days while I was there!). So yesterday, when Nature gifted us with a single delicious day with sunshine and blue skies and temperatures near 60F (15C), I was nearly skipping with weather-induced glee.

"On the First Sunny Day" is another spontaneous improvisation between Geli Wuerzner (violinola) and yours truly (cello). For me, the notes/chords are mostly sunny yellow and sky blue, so it seems the perfect musical accompaniment for such a day.

Here's hoping that the remaining winter days will be gentle wherever you are, and that spring will be here soon!

Warmly (and sunnily),
